Pudding • Jelly
1. Taking a sample
Foods such as pudding or jelly need to be mixed thoroughly in order to ensure a more unified sample.
Apply the sample onto the prism surface. |
2.Measuring Method
● Hand-Held Refractometers <MASTER-α, T, M> |
1) Apply pudding or jelly that has been thoroughly mixed, onto the prism.
Be sure that the sample is evenly spread over the entire prism when the daylight plate is closed. |
2) Look through the eyepiece. Read the boundary line where the blue and the
white color meet. This is the Brix (%) |
● "Pocket" Refractometers <PAL-1> |
1) Apply pudding or jelly that has been thoroughly mixed, onto the prism with a plastic spoon. |
2) Press the "START" key.
The measurement value is displayed digitally. |
*When measuring pudding or jelly with the PAL-1, repeated measurements
may not be stable due to insoluble ingredients in the sample. If the unit is showing unstable readings,
calculate the average of several measurements. |
